Bookkeeper: Full time, permanent SGB position with effect from 20 July 2015

Main Duties:

  • Responsible for maintaining the financial records of the School ie journal entries, ledger accounts and trial balances
  • Maintaining an accurate and efficient filing system for all source documents
  • Banking and cash management - preparing bank deposits and requesting necessary coinage timeously for events
  • Responsible for ensuring that all fees are invoiced annually in January and preparing the related credit notes and invoices for any pupil movement thereafter
  • Payroll administration
  • Assisting the accountant by providing required reports in Microsoft Excel or Word and other required financial records
  • Preparation of weekly and monthly bank reconciliations and control account reconciliations
  • Assist fellow staff, parents and boys with any related queries or payments as well as assistance given to auditors with the annual audit.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Tertiary education in Finance essential
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in related position
  • Excellent working knowledge of Sage Pastel Partner, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook
  • Knowledge of payroll software
  • Proficient in English - read, write and speak

Human Resources Administrator: Full time, permanent SGB position with effect from 1 June 2015

Main Duties:

  • Responsible for advertising new vacancies (Internally & Externally)
  • Responsible for all leave administration for support staff and Educators
  • Administration and communication of HR Policies and Procedures
  • Administration of employee contracts and job descriptions
  • Administration of employee benefits
  • Administration related to performance management
  • All HR administrations related to new recruitments, terminations and retirements on VIP System
  • Administration of staff training and development
  • Administration of disciplinary and grievance procedures
  • Liaison with the GDE regarding the School's HR function and duties

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Tertiary education in HR is essential
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in an HR related position a must
  • Excellent working knowledge of VIP HR system essential
  • First Language English
  • Computer literacy essential
  • Must have valid drivers licence own transport
  • Must have strong administrative skills and experience

Registered Professional Nurse: Pretoria Boys High School

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree /Diploma in General Nursing. Post graduate qualification in Occupational Health, Primary Health Care and a Pharmacology Dispensing Certification Course would be an advantage.
  • Current registration with South African Nursing Council as RN, RM, RPN, RCHN (as applicable) and, where applicable, registration as an OHP with SASOHN and registration with the Department of Health with a license for the dispensing of medicines.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in General Nursing, Out Patient Department / Primary Health Care Centre, Emergency Unit or School Nursing.
  • Valid driver's licence (PDP preferable) and private car.
  • Computer literacy, proficient in Microsoft word, excel, outlook and office.
  • Full command of English language.
  • Flexibility in working hours and weekend duties.
  • Experience with adolescent boys would be an advantage.
