IT Administrator

Pretoria Boys High School has an IT Administrator vacancy with effect from 1 February 2023 depending on the successful candidate’s availability. This position is a permanent full time post with the successful applicant being employed by the School Governing Body (SGB)

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant Tertiary Qualification
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in related position
  • Must have knowledge of IT Literacy; MS Office; Network and Office 365
  • Good work ethic; deadline driven; energetic; reliable and a team player; good organizational skills required

 

Main Duties:

To manage all relevant IT queries and undertaken by the School that includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Installation and configuration of computer hardware and components (printers, network interface cards, screen cards, modems, scanners)
  • Maintenance of all School computers and auditing of computer hardware and software
  • Installation and upgrade of operating system and applications (Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Packages, Word Perfect Packages, SMART Program and Libwin)
  • Responsible for the cabling between the servers and the workstation in the PBHS admin and boys high domains
  • Taking/capturing of student and staff photos
  • Add staff records & processing of records on the SMART program
  • Printing of staff and student Allxs cards
  • Assist staff with all helpdesk related problems on Microsoft Office, Printers, Scanners and Binding
  • Replacing of ink cartridges and toner as and when needed
  • Update network applications as required
  • Troubleshoot and resolve all problems encountered with hardware and software. Escalate requests to the appropriate party, as required. Replace or repair defective parts and equipment.
  • Perform routine server monitoring and performance benchmarking
  • Monitor and remove virus, spyware and non-authorised software
  • Complete special projects as requested.
  • Setting up mobile projector and laptop as and when required
  • Setting up multimedia system in School hall
  • Your supervisor / manager is entitled to, at their discretion, instruct you with additional responsibilities, which fall within the boundaries of your job description, or in accordance with operational requirements.

Clothing Shop Manager

Pretoria Boys High School has a Clothing Shop Manager vacancy with effect from 1 February 2023 depending on the successful candidate’s availability. This position is a permanent full time / part time post, with the successful applicant being employed by the School Governing Body (SGB)

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Recent excellent Working knowledge of Pastel Partner, Microsoft excel, Word, Outlook and Windows
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in related position
  • Strong administrative skills
  • Strong procurement experience
  • Previous experience in a School environment would be beneficial
  • Proficient in English – read, write and speak
  • Good work ethic; deadline driven; energetic; accuracy and attention to detail required; reliable and a team player; good organizational skills required

 

Main Duties:

  • Managing relationships with suppliers
  • Negotiating pricing
  • Deliver excellent customer service
  • Stock taking
  • Minimize stock loss and manage stock control
  • Manage the stock room and floor efficiently
  • Ensure correct merchandising and displays
  • Ensure good housekeeping is maintained
  • Administration and management functions
  • Daily cash up
