“This is more than just a building – it’s a launchpad for the future. We are creating a space where creativity meets code, where innovation is nurtured, and where our learners will be equipped with the digital skills needed to lead in a rapidly changing world.” – Greg Hassenkamp, Headmaster
Dynamic and modern, our new Innovation Centre is designed to equip our boys with cutting-edge skills for success in the fast-paced digital age. The facility features two state-of-the-art CAT labs, each accommodating 30 students, separated by folding, stackable, sound-proof doors that can transform the space into one large collaborative teaching venue.
The centre also boasts a dedicated Innovation and Robotics space for 30 students, where STEM learning comes alive through hands-on engagement with the latest technology. Completing the facility is a terraced auditorium with seating for 104 – a dynamic hub for presentations, collaboration, and inspiration.

In today’s fast-paced, technology-driven world, education must go beyond traditional learning to prepare students for the realities of the digital age. Artificial Intelligence, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), coding, and robotics are at the heart of this transformation.
These disciplines empower students to become not just users of technology, but innovators and problem-solvers who can shape the future. Through coding and robotics, learners develop critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration – skills that are essential in every modern career field. Exposure to AI and STEM subjects fosters adaptability and curiosity, encouraging our boys to understand how the world works and how they can improve it.
By mastering these future-focused skills, our boys gain the confidence and capability to thrive in industries that don’t yet exist, ensuring they are equipped to lead, create, and make meaningful contributions in a rapidly evolving world.
Construction is expected to be completed by the end of October 2025, with doors opening to students and staff at the beginning of the 2026 academic year.
This bold investment aligns with Pretoria Boys High’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence and future-ready education. With growing global demand for tech-savvy professionals, the new centre is a direct response to equipping the next generation of thinkers, leaders, and changemakers with real-world, future-focused skills.
“As we lay the foundations today, we are building far more than walls – we are building opportunity, potential, and possibility for every student who walks through these doors,” said Joanna Holliday, Deputy Headmaster – Head of Academics.
The school invites the community, alumni, and prospective partners to share in this exciting journey as it pioneers a new chapter in educational innovation.
