Message from the Headmaster
It is with great pleasure that Pretoria Boys High welcomes the many schools and visitors to this the annual Nomads Hockey Festival. Pretoria Boys High School has chosen to host the festival in the same year that we celebrate our schools 125 Year Anniversary. A wonderful occasion as we celebrate everything that is great about our school and at the same time everything that is great about healthy school boy sport rivalry.
As we enjoy these three days of hockey, let us remember that our job as schools is not to produce professional sportsmen. Our job is to instil a love for the game, a respect for opponents, officials and the rules and a realisation that winning while important is not what matters most. It is my wish that during the course of this week the comradery between team mates as well as the opposition will be as important as any results. Likewise, the interactions between staff and supporters from the different schools. In the process may you make new friendships that last a life time as we connect through this wonderful sport.

Message from the Director of Hockey, Colin Fielding
Hockey has been a proud tradition at Pretoria Boys High School since 1950 and is one of the school’s premier winter sports. Boys High offers a comprehensive and dynamic hockey program, featuring a world-class artificial pitch and two meticulously maintained grass fields, enabling up to 20 teams to participate. These facilities provide an exceptional environment for players to develop their skills and foster a passion for the game.
As we embark on the school’s 125th Anniversary, we are proud to host the annual Nomads Hockey Festival as part of these celebrations. This milestone provides a fitting opportunity to reflect on the rich heritage of hockey at Boys High, while also looking forward with excitement and purpose.
The Nomads Festival has long been a highlight on the school hockey calendar, bringing together quality teams, strong competition, and the true spirit of schoolboy hockey. It is our aim that this year’s festival not only delivers high standards of play, but also strengthens the friendships, sportsmanship, and shared love for the game that make occasions such as this so special.
