Moonlight Serenade Illuminates 125 Years of Pretoria Boys High School
As part of Pretoria Boys High School’s 125th anniversary celebrations, the School on the Hill was transformed into a breathtaking stage for Moonlight Serenade on Friday, 24 July 2026.
Set against the iconic façade of the Main Building, guests were treated to an unforgettable evening where music, light and history came together in a spectacular celebration of the school’s enduring legacy.
Throughout the evening, audiences enjoyed exceptional performances by a number of the school’s talented musical ensembles. Their performances provided the soundtrack to a captivating visual journey through 125 years of Pretoria Boys High School.
The historic Main Building became a living canvas as archival photographs were projected onto its sandstone walls, bringing to life generations of Boys High pupils, cherished traditions, sporting triumphs, school events and the people who have shaped the institution since its founding in 1901. Carefully choreographed lighting transformed the space, illuminating not only the building itself but also the performers and audience, creating an atmosphere that was both inspiring and deeply moving.
More than a concert, Moonlight Serenade was a celebration of the rich heritage, excellence and community spirit that define Pretoria Boys High School. It offered guests a unique opportunity to reflect on the school’s remarkable journey while celebrating the talent and creativity that continue to shape its future.
The evening was made possible through the vision, creativity and dedication of Joanna Holliday and Cathy Louw, whose passion brought this extraordinary concept to life. Their meticulous planning and artistic direction created an experience that will long be remembered by all who attended.
