“This initiative is about more than just giving items,” one parent remarked. “It’s about showing our boys the importance of standing up for women, supporting them in meaningful ways, and building a community that cares.”

In celebration of Women’s Month, the Pretoria Boys High School (PBHS) community once again demonstrated the true meaning of service, empathy, and solidarity. Driven by the spirit of giving, boys and their parents joined forces to collect much-needed items for women and children in need.
The initiative called for donations of sanitary products, nappies, formula, and financial contributions – essentials that many families often struggle to access. The response was overwhelming. In just a short period, the PBHS community managed to gather an impressive collection of goods and funds, all of which were handed over to two organisations making a profound impact: Caring for Girls and the Kameeldrift Trauma Centre.
Caring for Girls is an initiative that provides sanitary products to schoolgirls across South Africa, helping them stay in school with dignity and confidence. The Kameeldrift Trauma Centre, meanwhile, offers critical support to women and children who have endured abuse and hardship, ensuring they receive not only immediate care but also the long-term assistance needed to rebuild their lives.
The handover of donations was a proud and emotional moment for all involved. Parents and boys alike witnessed how their contributions will directly uplift the lives of women and girls, reinforcing the values of compassion, respect, and responsibility that PBHS strives to instill in its students.
As Women’s Month drew to a close, the PBHS outreach project served as a reminder that generosity knows no boundaries and that small acts of kindness, when united, can spark real change.
Well done, gentlemen, for leading with heart and showing what true brotherhood in service looks like.
