It is with great pride that we add Corbin Bosch to the list of 10 PBHS Old Boys who have represented South Africa at cricket (formerly Springboks and now Proteas).

Shortly after receiving his ODI cap, Corbin was called up for the 1st Test against Pakistan at Super Sport Park, and debuted as most cricketers could only dream of. Having taken 4 wickets in the Pakistan first innings (and one in the second), he scored an unbeaten 81. In doing so, Corbin achieved a world record for the highest score by a number 9 batsman on debut, and is the first South African to take 4 wickets and score a half century in a test match on debut. He is the 16th test player from all countries to have achieved this.
In congratulating Corbin, we need to add that his late father, Tertius Bosch played his only test for South Africa in 1992 against the West Indies in Bridgetown, Barbados but started his career at Super Sport Park.
His mother has been frequently caught on camera in the stands understandably bursting with pride and excitement accompanied by her equally excited husband, Brian van Onselen, an Old Boy (Class of 1984) and himself a first class cricketer.
It would be remiss not to mention the part played by our other Old Boy, Aiden Markram. For his two fine innings, he was named man of the match and is South Africa’s highest scoring batsmen for the 2024 year.
Well done to both and our best wishes for the years ahead.
